Week 25 -- April 14 - April 20

This week we continue to be deep in the book of Psalms.  In our recommended accompanying site, enterthebible.org, Dr Fred Gaiser of Luther Seminary shares a brief video entitled "Why Lament Psalms are important."  He comments that the multitude of lament psalms speak of the "character of human life in general."   He further states these psalms are . . .

"words of complaint and lamentation of distress by the people of God both corporately and individually who are caught up in the chaotic realities of existence  whether they are political or personal.  The good news is that those things get biblical space so that they make allowance -- give permission -- for similar voices today to cry out to God in no uncertain language -- they are often quite raw - in no uncertain terms cry out to God about the present reality which I and we, as the people of God, experience."
